Butter Yellow Vintage Nightstand Makeover

Hi sweet friends!

I have another furniture makeover to share with you this week. But before I get into all that… anyone else ready for the long holiday weekend? You know I’ve totally been counting down the days over here. Between work, home projects, blogging, daily workouts and a few other kinda stressful things we’ve been dealing with lately, I could really use an extra day to just do whatever! You feel me?

On a side note, I’m pretty sure I talked a little bit about this in my front entryway makeover blog post earlier this month, but I actually started a regular exercise regime about six weeks ago now. I’ve been following the 12-week LiveFit Trainer program from Jamie Eason, and I absolutely love it. Started out with four days for the first two weeks, and then went up to five days for the third and fourth weeks. Now I’m doing early morning weight training six days a week, and then cardio (typically running or bike rides) four times a week after work. So basically two a days, although it evens out to about an hour of working out each day. And guess what, friends? I can honestly say that I have not missed a single workout so far. It has been a heck of a struggle not giving up some days and just sleeping in, but I’m so proud of myself for sticking with it.

DIY Farm Table + Bench for $150 {Tutorial}

Hi sweet friends!

Earlier this week, I blogged about the simple + neutral farmhouse-style gallery wall that I created as part of our dining room makeover using antique-looking pieces that I had collected over time. I really do love how it turned out! It’s kind of funny… when you’re renovating an older house, it can sometimes feel like you’re not making much progress. And then I’ll be sitting in our dining room and think back to how it looked when we first moved into our home two years ago, and realize just how far we’ve come!

1940s Vintage Sewing Cabinet + Thrifting Advice

Hi sweet friends!

You know how it’s said that the best things in life come to those who wait? Well, that’s how I feel about junking. Any one of my friends can tell you that I like a good deal. But the thing is… that often requires a great deal of patience (and a pinch of luck!).

You can’t always just go out and find what you’re looking for right away, unless you’re okay with a higher price tag. Most of the time, it takes me several weeks or even months to find that perfect piece, especially when it comes to furniture. And even more so when looking for antiques!

$10 Distressed Farmhouse Trays {Tutorial}

Hi there, sweet friends!

You know how I love a good thrift store find. Well, I found these vintage wooden folding trays hiding out at a local Goodwill about a year or so ago and, at only $5 for a set of four, I just couldn’t pass them up!

I don’t know if you’ve ever tried looking for folding trays, but let me tell you – they can be so dang expensive! At least the stylish ones are. I had been searching for a set for awhile, but none were in a price range I could justify spending. So, when I came across these folding trays at Goodwill, I thought it would be fun to give them a little chippy, farmhouse-style makeover!
