Fireplace Room Remodel: Drywall, Painting + New Doors {Part 4}

All right, friends… so I’m FINALLY getting around to blogging this next phase in our fireplace room remodel, which was a major project we were busy working on for most of last year. It’s by far my favorite room in the house now, so I’m excited to share just how this space came to be what it is now. It certainly didn’t happen overnight!

In case you’re new here… first, welcome to this little blog of mine! And, second, I’ve been sharing a blog series on here that I hope will help walk you through each and every phase of our fireplace room remodel. Maybe you’re working on your own home renovation… or maybe you just love seeing the before and after process, like I do! Actually, I guess I fit into both of those categories!

Front Entryway Makeover: Updated Closet Doors

In case you missed it, I shared the “before” tour of our front entryway earlier this week and chatted about all the updates we will be doing over the coming year, little by little. First on the list was giving the closet a makeover by adding new doors and trim!

I had mentioned in my neutral farmhouse-style gallery wall post a few weeks ago that the set of bi-fold closet doors we had picked out for our front entryway (to replace the original hollow-core sliding doors that were pretty worn) were just a few inches too wide for the closet opening. A few inches. Yup.

Front Entryway Makeover: Before Tour + Design Plans

Life has been just a little bit crazy lately, but I thought I’d take a minute to pop on here quick and tell you all about our latest reno project that we’ve got going on. I chatted about it a bit on my Instagram stories a few weeks back, but haven’t really had a chance to blog about it on here yet… until now, of course. Sorry to leave you hanging!

I so need to get better at this whole blogging thing, but I’m still kind of struggling to find that healthy balance between working full time, home renovations (did I mention the recent water-damage-in-the-half-bath-after-the-toilet-overflowed fiasco? More on that later!), DIY projects, homemaking, blogging and just life in general. Lately, I even tossed 6 a.m. workouts into the mix! Have I mentioned that I’m a little nuts? … But I will get there, I pinky promise! Just bear with me… it might take me a few months to find my groove. 😉

How to Create an Antiqued Finish on a Salvaged Door

Hi sweet friends!

Did you miss me? I’ve been feeling under the weather quite a bit lately, and it’s really knocked me on my butt. I have barely had the energy to get through work every day, let alone keep up with housework, projects around our home, blogging and just having a life in general. And I really miss it!

I have days where I start to feel better, and I’ll try to push myself to get a few projects on my to-do list done. But then I’ll just go right back to being sick again. Honestly, it’s been pretty frustrating because I’m naturally a person who is always busy doing something. And I hate the feeling of being unproductive.

Fireplace Room Remodel: Installing a French Door + Windows {Part 3}

I’m really excited to be sharing this phase of our fireplace room remodel with you all today. It’s the point where we (and by we, I mean everyone else!) could finally start to see the potential in this space. A pair of French doors and windows can do that to a person!

Last week, I shared the demo phase of our fireplace room remodel where we ripped everything down to the studs, and now I’m going to be chatting all about the new French door and side-by-side windows we installed in here! They really made all the difference. I’m not kidding. I think this might have been my favorite part, watching how the room just instantly transformed before our eyes when the door and windows went in… although I tend to say that about almost all of the phases of this remodel. Honestly, it’s all been fun and exciting… just in different ways!
